What the symptom may mean
The hob makes an unfamiliar sound may involve fan operation, induction pan interaction or a mechanical issue. An engineer assesses the actual appliance; a symptom alone does not identify a component.
Useful details from ordinary use
Record whether the sound follows a particular pan or power level. Separate the selected programme or control setting from the result you saw or heard. Keep the exact display message if one appeared.
Find the product, safely
Use the model from an existing manual or an accessible label. Do not lift a fitted hob or reach under electrical connections.
Identify electric, ceramic, induction or gas. A ceramic glass surface alone does not establish the heating technology.
Stop if it becomes unsafe
Do not remove covers, reach into moving parts or continue using an appliance with smoke, sparking, a burning smell, water near electrical parts or repeated tripping. Do not restart it to reproduce the problem.
